These terms govern your use of Tipbook, an app by Gentle Motion ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.
What Tipbook Does
Tipbook is an income tracker for tipped workers. It helps you:
- Log shifts, tips, hours, tip-outs, and the jobs you work
- See your take-home, effective hourly rate, and tip-out at a glance
- Set income goals and track your progress
- Ask questions about your own records and get charts and insights generated with the help of artificial intelligence
- Back up your records and sync them across your devices when you sign in
Account
Signing in with a Google account is optional and lets your records back up and sync across your devices. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, to use Tipbook.
AI-Powered Insights
When you ask a question about your records, Tipbook uses artificial intelligence to interpret it and produce charts and summaries. While we work hard to make these as accurate and helpful as possible:
- AI-generated charts and summaries may contain errors or misinterpret what you asked
- You are responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it
- The insights are a starting point, not a substitute for your own judgment
Not Financial or Tax Advice
Tipbook shows estimates — including take-home pay, hourly rates, tip-out, and any tax set-aside figures — based on the numbers you enter. These are for your own information only and are not financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. They may differ from your actual pay, employer records, or tax obligations. Verify against your pay stubs and consult a qualified professional before making decisions or filing taxes.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Enter personal information about other people without their consent
- Use Tipbook for any unlawful or harmful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload our services
If someone outside this agreement makes a legal claim against us because of how you used Tipbook or the information you put into it, you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs and any resulting damages, except to the extent the claim is caused by our own wrongdoing.
Purchases
Tipbook offers an optional premium subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Subscriptions are handled entirely by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and renew automatically until you cancel; you can manage or cancel anytime in your store account. Refunds are subject to the store's policies. We do not collect or store payment information.
Service Availability
Tipbook is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gentle Motion shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of Tipbook, including but not limited to errors in calculations or AI-generated insights, lost records, or decisions made based on the app's output. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Tipbook in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
